IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority - ORV & Snowmobile Club - All three groomers are out on the trails today after a day and a half of preventative maintenance work. Lots of grease, baths, bogy wheel changes, inspections and wiring repair. Trails rated in good to fair condition. The snirt remains on short sections of our major corridors, especially near town. Lots of starting and stopping creates lots of track spin. We are happy to see southern WI and IL get to grooming this season. It should mean quieter trails up north! Come on up! ... #ironwood #westernup #snowphotosPhoto from 2017 by club President Steve Hamilton.

SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association - We groomed Trail 43 down to Ten Curves Rd we couldn’t groom the ditch on Ten Curves Rd because there’s just not enough snow in the ditch for us to work with yet, North of Ten Curves Rd the trail is in nice shape though. We groomed 43 to the Bear Trap and Petrol Lane to Melstrand and trail 440 last night. We still have some icy corners and snow is thin in a few areas south of Fox River Rd. Trail 440 is in good shape. It’s still a little icy for about 1 mile off M-77. Trail 431 was groomed and that’s in good shape. Still a little wet going though the swamp around town so be careful going through the swamp. Our groomers will be going out every night Monday through Thursday to groom our trail system so watch out for them. We plan to double groom Friday, Saturday and Sunday.... #seney #newberry #snowphotosWe groomed Trail 43 down to Ten Curves Rd we couldn’t groom the ditch on Ten Curves Rd because there’s just not enough snow in the ditch for us to work with yet, North of Ten Curves Rd the trail is in nice shape though. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - Trail Report Number 2 for January 26th 2021
Trails are great everywhere north of Mohawk. Filled up at Vansville Bar
. Headed North to Lac La Belle. Then, filled up at the Lac La Belle Lodge / Bear Belly Pit Stop
gas station. Proceeded North to High Rock and stopped by Rocket Range. The trail to High Rock was a little rough but very rideable (7.5 out of 10). Went into Copper Harbor for gas at Copper Harbor Fuel Stop
and up to Brockway. From Brockway headed to Eagle Harbor Inn
for a Pizza and Beer. Great day to be in the Northwoods and great job to all the Groomer Operators out there!

Ryan Bennet and crew shared these photos and review of their day....”Trail 124 is absolutely perfect. Trail 122 was fair to great, just needs more snow for thin spots. Trail 3 and 17 north of Houghton have been good to great also. Trail 132 to Lac La Belle was absolutely perfect as usual.”

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT, Tuesday, 1/26/2021 TRAIL CONDITIONS GOOD! No new snow yesterday but still overall Good groomed trail conditions for the limited amount of snow we have received this season. Some corners are getting icy. Trail 422 has vehicles still driving on Miners Castle Road. Trail 419 between Munising and Wetmore is rough with a challenging creek crossing - report of someone getting stuck in it. We have no snow to work with so ride with caution. Honestly more than a foot of snow is needed to do anything in that section of trail and get the culvert installed. We did move the clubs John Deere 7130 to its basecamp in Munising last night to help out on Trail 419 this season. Please respect residential property owners and STAY ON THE TRAIL, No Snowmobile Signs mean just that. Continue the snow dances and Stay Tuned for updates! KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - Trails are amazing today in the Keweenaw! Took Portage Lake to the Dreamland Trail. The Dreamland trail is now groomed and open with trees marking the Lake Crossing. Then, took 122 to gay. Not a single track on the freshly groomed trail on 122. Then, 124 towards Vansville Bar. Only saw 5 sleds in one group so far for the entire day. Trails are in the best shape I have seen in a long time. Shout out to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club Groomers!

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority - ORV & Snowmobile Club - VP and trail boss Jerry Nezworski
had the crews running non-stop this weekend and riders took note of the good conditions! We saw tremendous Friday through Sunday traffic on the trails and we were so happy to see everyone! Thanks to Jerry and his team's work the trails held up remarkably well in spite of the traffic. Our entire 100 mile system was groomed completely several times this weekend. Charlie, Joe, Dan, Jerry, Victor, Ryan, Bob, Scott, Knute, Mike and Steve took volunteer shifts throughout the weekend. Pictures are from "Jailhouse" Ryan who spent time cleaning up trail 2 through the Bessemer to Wakefield Ski hill section. He even cut down the tree club President PROMISED Ryan he would cut down last week so we could farm more corner snow. THANKS RYAN! We have lake effect forecast every day this week, while not much it will help the trails. It's looking a touch warmer (high 20's) next weekend, so riding before the weekend would be recommended. There are low snow hazards existing on trails such as icy corners and straights as well as rock hazards reappearing. Our trails run on rugged rocky country and as traffic changes the trail bed rock hazards get exposed. We are working to paint it up! Ride safe, ride sober, ride right! ... #ironwood #westernup #snowphotos #trailreports

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT - Monday, 01/25/2021 TRAIL CONDITIONS HOLDING! A few inches of new snow yesterday helping hold the overall Good groomed trail conditions. As long as daily light new snowfall continues to freshen up the trails, we should be able to maintain a decent groom and not wear out the snow. Trail 419 is cut and froze in but we need more snow so regular grooming can start. Trail 417 had a groom attempted but much more snow is still needed before we try again, very rocky. Trail 422 has vehicles still driving on Miners Castle Road. More snow is still needed to fill in underlying trail defects in a few areas so keep an eye out for that surprise hole in the trail. If out riding please avoid hard throttle starts and digging holes so we can continue to build a clean flat base that will hold. Continue the snow dances and Stay Tuned for updates! Pretty thin for late January conditions. Passed well over 30 sleds in the first 3 hrs and they are happy to see us out and making the best of poor conditions. An inconsistent 2” base in LON/ Starvation area and thinner near Alba. Good temps this week so we are reworking the thin base and big moguls to help setup for a flatter mid season run. SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association - Well, we’ve gotta take the bad with the good. We just ran 49 down to 12 mile road and it’s overall in fair condition. There are sections that are nice and smooth and others where the Tag Alders are poking up through the trail as you can see in a couple of these pics. The only cure for that is MORE SNOW! It has been snowing all day but not adding up to more than a couple of inches of fluff. Here’s the scoop on the rest of the trails...
8 out to Brimley is in good shape
8 between Brimley and Raco was done overnight and is in much better shape than it was after heavy traffic yesterday
City trails are all in good shape, watch for branches in spots
472 out of Kinross west to 480 out to Raco (the Spile Dam) was done today. Groomer Mike reports that there are a lot of moguls in that area not due to snow but due to dirt and we need more snow to fill them in. He also ran 49 out of Kinross north past Gaines Highway and turned around before the beaver pond. He reports that section to also have moguls due to dirt and lack of snow.
The section of trail 49 south of 12 mile and north of where he turned around (known as the beaver pond) is the only section of trail that we cannot groom at this time due to very deep water under the ice. Please use caution here!
Kinross 494 behind the airport to 49 south toward Pickford will be done tomorrow.
Raco/ Bay Mills / Brimley loop ( 8 and 889) is in good shape
Ride safe and keep the snow dances going!❄️❄️❄️ ... #soo #snowphotos

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT - Sunday, 01/24/2021 SLOW BUT STEADY SNOWFALL Again not a big change from yesterday’s report. Overall groomed trail conditions are good. We received an inch or so of new snow last night with more falling as we speak. Trail 419 was cut and froze in with the Bully yesterday and in fair condition. A bit more snow and regular grooming of Trail 419 can start. Trail 417 had a groom attempted last night but much more snow is still needed before we try again, very rocky. Trail 7 heading South starts thinning South of Doe Lake Road with reports of some gravel mix closer to CR440. Trail 422 has vehicles still driving on Miners Castle Road. We would also like to Thank Walker Equipment who made our Arrowhead Drag out of St. Germain Wisconsin for the transport of the groomer from the Dealship to our door step. For the people who have groomer tracker, don’t be alarmed that you see a trail on the tracker that hasn’t been groomed. It might have been done by the demo machine so it will not show up on the tracker. All our trails are being hit and groomed. Reports of fair to good conditions! We finally got some snow to cover up the thinner spots. Have fun and be safe! ... #lakegogebic #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - I hope a lot of you were able to get out and enjoy all of this recent snowfall on Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula
!
Sean Diederich did and shared these photos and comments about the day “200 miles today! Toivola to Copper Harbor to LacLaBelle and back. The trails are in great shape with thinner areas here and there between south range and Mohawk. Mohawk north is awesome and south range to toivola is excellent. Overall it was good day!”
Couldn’t agree more with what Sean had to say and we personally saw 3 different Groomer Operators throughout the day!
Thanks for sharing Sean! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority - ORV & Snowmobile Club - Thank you for visiting this weekend and thank you to our volunteer army of groomer operators like Mike Secord who sent us this video of trail 8 last night...gorgeous. Trails are in good condition with varying trail quality on the main corridors. Our entire system was groomed yesterday and through the night. We will do it again tonight. SLOW DOWN in the tight trails, they are icy and thin and will get worse throughout the day. TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club - Here are some pictures from the trail yesterday from my snowmobile and last night from the groomers. Groomers are running a full schedule and the trails are shaping up nicely. Yes we could use some more snow but trails are totally rideable. There are a few corners that are still showing dirt but overall the trails are decent. Get out of the house this weekend! Please use caution as I’m sure there will be some traffic on the trails. MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT - Saturday, 01-23-2021 KEEP THE SNOW COMING!
Not a big change from yesterday’s report. Overall groomed trail conditions are good. We again received a few inches of new blowing and drifting snow yesterday but sun forecast for today. Grooming last night included all of Trail 8 and Trail 7 from Christmas South to Buckhorn Road and Trail 418. Trail 7 heading South starts thinning South of Doe Lake Road with reports of some gravel mix closer to CR440. Trail 422 has vehicles still driving on Miners Castle Road and between M-28 and H-58 there are few large depressions. Trail 417 will be rocky and needs much more snow before it can be set. More snow is also needed to fill in underlying trail defects in areas so keep an eye out for that surprise hole in the trail. If out riding please avoid hard throttle starts and digging holes so we can continue to build a clean flat base that will hold. Please be patient as we continue to work on getting these trails set. Continue the snow dances and Stay Tuned for updates! DETAILED REPORT HERE: www.algersorva.com/trailreport/1-23-2021/ ... #munising #snowphotos #trailreports

Yes. I'm pretty shocked at the amount of people out tonight. I called Ryan off because i wasworried about him on the roads. He lives a long way away. We're getting kinda spanked right now because of that decision.

Thanks Chad. I think youre right there with the 8-10. We will be ready for you tomorrow.

That's awesome jason!!

JUST got back from Larry's Seven-Ski Inn an the roads are TERRIBLE. IF u do not have to go out I wouldn't go. Phone rang off hook from down staters asking about snow conditions. Had a group of 3 trailers that parked at Larry's who were from Ohio an they said the riding was pretty good. Had 2 more groups who came over from Gaylord an said trails were fine. SO with that being said YES it is still snowing out an a blowing. Bring it!!!!

Just sat down here! We left S. Higgins, N to Fredrick then Ostego, back brown thru Lakes of N. & it's been all good!

Sooo 8-10 inches yet? thanks in advance. For the updates

Pretty to look at, I'm outside right now ,nice breeze going, so long have to go back in and turn ac down before it gets to chilly in there yuk yuk yuk globe AZ

Krupps Resort

Good morning Kruppers!
Well a foot of new snow here sure
Put a bigger smile on Kruppys face!
And just a bit north of us picked up 15+ inches!
People are scurrying to get that last ride in!
You know who you are! Ha ha
I was loosing hope to be able to carve through the beautiful UP woods one more time this year!
Today is that day!
Sadly I'm forced to work today and this weekend and won't be sharing any pics! I do have friends out riding and maybe I can share their pics later!
Temps are below freezing for now so at lease it won't all melt like some spring snows!
So if your a snow lover and have been suffering that end of season depression that a lot of us get! There is time! I know some of Kruppys fans have detailed the sleds and packed away in the trailer for the summer but know- it's go time! And they are on their way up here!
See ya soon!

Lots of downed trees due to the heavy wet snow. Any low spot that can collect water, has it! Picture from trail 120, Freda loop. Use caution, snow has settled a lot, the foot in Twin Lakes is down to about 7 inches as of this morning.

Well Kruppers its been a weird season!
temps have been late Aprilish! its just 34 above out right now
but the snows have taken a big hit! Groomers are asleep till/if it cools off!
looks like the next couple nights it will be in the mid twenties and maybe can go back out but things are looking a bit grim!
John Dee's extended forecast is giving little to no hope and temps heading back to 50's Friday and beyond!
It goes like this:

for Northern Houghton & all of Keweenaw County

.:: March 9, 2016 ::.
TODAY...CLOUDY WITH LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE. TEMPS STEADY IN THE LOW 30'S. NORTH WINDS 5 TO 15 MPH.

TONIGHT...MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOW 26. LIGHT WINDS.

TOMORROW...PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS 38. LIGHT WINDS BECOMING NORTHWEST 5 TO 10 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TOMORROW NIGHT...CLEAR. LOW 24.

FRIDAY...MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH 50. SOUTHWEST WINDS 5 TO 10 MPH.

SATURDAY...MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH 55.

SUNDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY, WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. HIGH 48.

MONDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS. HIGH AROUND 47.

TUESDAY...MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH AROUND 52.
Its just the first week of March so its possible we could get some big bombs yet! ''I like to keep my glass half full because I love to ride!"
Looks like fire roads might be the best riding for now!
Waterfalls should be something to see too!
ya Kruppy is a bit depressed too! And he has a giant fly tormenting him!
Keep your chins up snow lovers!
I wish I was reporting brand new groomer ribbons for you all!
Have a great night!

North Store Follow Me Outfitters

Well we lost some snow but that snow dance I did last night might have worked. We have a good 3" of snow since this morning and still coming down. The week looking good to for snow. Thanks for a great winter so far, it great see all you snow junkies. Let's pray for a great March. Yooper Out!!!! Hey check this out...Give generously, for your gifts will return to you later. Divide your gifts among many, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead. When the clouds are heavy, the rains come down. When a tree falls, weather south or north, there it lies. If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Ecclesiastes 11:1-4 ... See MoreSee Less

Blue Sky Rentals

Big group going out today from Scarlett Machinery. Trails are in great shape. Groomers are out and keeping the trails safe and enjoyable for everyone. Colder temps for the weekend should make for great riding with more snow in the forecast. We have a few snowmobiles left this weekend for rent so get out and enjoy the trails! Www.bluesky-tvc.com ...
