KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - Today marks the “official end” of the 2019/20 season. Trails officially close March 31st.

I have to say that even with the early season HEAVY snow storms delaying the opening of trails in some areas, the Christmas to New Years rain and then snow storm, limited snow in February and March and now of course the virus wrecking havoc and devastation on the world.....it was STILL a good season! I always say ANY day riding is better than a day at work or home!

Adam Garvey (a local to the Keweenaw) enjoyed a last trail ride and shared his good, bad and ugly photos with us!

Thanks for sharing, Adam, along with ALL of you that shared photos during the season and trail conditions reports - It’s awesome to have so many people willing to share their riding experiences!

Huge thanks again to the Groomer Operators, Trail Boss, Keweenaw Snowmobile Club and Volunteers that make each season great!

Stay safe and stay healthy! #snowphotos

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT - Monday, 03/23/2020
GREAT TRAILS BUT SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED!

UPDATE: We received official notice from the DNR that Grooming Operations are shut down. Trails are open for public use but grooming stops.
Overall trail conditions are good to very good. All of the Main Trails have been groomed and are holding a near perfect condition. Trail 8 North of Shingleton has grooming be finished up tonight with operations then on hold. Grooming Operations will resume when weather permits. We still have a very good base overall with great late season riding conditions. Near the towns we have thin snow on trails running along the roadways. Check Fuel and Food stops if heading out. There are questions coming in with Executive Order 2020-21 and snowmobiling, per the MI DNR website all Trails remain Open following Section 7.Exceptions/a./1. of the order. (copied in the detailed report) Be Safe!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - Glenn Rowe’s last photo by the Vansville Bar sign for the season!

Huge thanks to Glenn and all Operators for a fantastic season!

Trail Boss Buzzy said this morning, “Just got word from the DNR to cease grooming for the rest of the season. Probably would only have the groomers out a couple of times any way be cause of forecasted weather warm up. We had a good season because of the dedication of our team of groomer operators. They did an outstanding job. See you next season stay healthy and enjoy the outdoors. The Trails will remain open until the end of the month”.

Couldn’t agree more Buzzy! Thanks for all YOU do behind the scenes Buzzy, to help make the Keweenaw the best place to ride! .. #snowphotosGlenn Rowe’s last photo by the Vansville Bar sign for the season!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails - We regret to inform everyone that between the announcement by our governor today and a week of warm weather coming up that we are ending our grooming operations for this season. That does not mean the trail is closed. It is still open until 4/1. It just means you will not see our die hard operators out on the trail until next season. Our gas stations will still be open. Our restaurants have been ceasing operations. Call ahead or check their Facebook pages to find out if they are open. We will start prepping for summer maintenance and getting ready for next season! We do have one HUGE favor to ask of all of you. When things return to normal, PLEASE visit our sponsoring businesses and thank them by buying their products, food, and gas and help get them back on their feet again so they will be there for you next season! Any little bit helps! MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails - Last night's grooming went well. Little Lake to Rumely is still in great shape. Rumely to the east end is still nice in most places but there are a couple road sections where we lost our private property access over a couple years due to people not staying on the trail that are not so great. Going into next week we will be taking things day by day depending on the weather. #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

A lot of aggressive riding out there today. 4 sledders did "slide"ways stops to avoid hitting me. There is one smooth groom from the return trip back to the barn.....
It was awesome to see this youngster on his youth sled with his family enjoying the crazy 8s. Very nice to see.... You made my day... Thank you! #snowphotos

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - Trails in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula don’t look much like late season riding..... pretty much as good as they get in most areas. The fresh snow received Thursday night and Friday morning really put the icing on the cake!

Getting through Houghton/Hancock is still a bit challenging with the bare pavement areas, but it is being done by many riders staying south of the bridge.

Carry out is still available this weekend at the majority of restaurants and fuel is still available at Vansville Bar and Copper Harbor Fuel Stop.

⛽️Vansville Bar offers trailer parking to stage out of their lot, along with fuel, carryout pop, beer and liquor

⛽️Copper Harbor Fuel Stop offers fuel and has a convenience type store also

If you are out here riding today, enjoy the beautiful day and ride with caution as always. #snowphotos

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT - Saturday, 03/21/2020
NEW SNOW WITH NEAR PERFECT TRAILS!

Overall trail conditions are good to very good with an average of 4 plus inches of fresh snow, heavier in areas. Trails are grooming out the best they have all season. We still have a very good base overall with great late season riding conditions. Near the towns we have some thin snow on trails running along the roadways though the Wetmore Spur along M-28 is very good. Most of Trail 419 between Munising and Wetmore is un-groomable with icy corners and hill tops. Check Fuel and Food stops before heading out. Enjoy the Trails and Ride Safe! Yes. I'm pretty shocked at the amount of people out tonight. I called Ryan off because i wasworried about him on the roads. He lives a long way away. We're getting kinda spanked right now because of that decision.

Thanks Chad. I think youre right there with the 8-10. We will be ready for you tomorrow.

That's awesome jason!!

JUST got back from Larry's Seven-Ski Inn an the roads are TERRIBLE. IF u do not have to go out I wouldn't go. Phone rang off hook from down staters asking about snow conditions. Had a group of 3 trailers that parked at Larry's who were from Ohio an they said the riding was pretty good. Had 2 more groups who came over from Gaylord an said trails were fine. SO with that being said YES it is still snowing out an a blowing. Bring it!!!!

Just sat down here! We left S. Higgins, N to Fredrick then Ostego, back brown thru Lakes of N. & it's been all good!

Sooo 8-10 inches yet? thanks in advance. For the updates

Pretty to look at, I'm outside right now ,nice breeze going, so long have to go back in and turn ac down before it gets to chilly in there yuk yuk yuk globe AZ

We still have snow coming down an we are at 10in here an lots wind an whiteouts in the charleviox area

Good morning Kruppers!
Well a foot of new snow here sure
Put a bigger smile on Kruppys face!
And just a bit north of us picked up 15+ inches!
People are scurrying to get that last ride in!
You know who you are! Ha ha
I was loosing hope to be able to carve through the beautiful UP woods one more time this year!
Today is that day!
Sadly I'm forced to work today and this weekend and won't be sharing any pics! I do have friends out riding and maybe I can share their pics later!
Temps are below freezing for now so at lease it won't all melt like some spring snows!
So if your a snow lover and have been suffering that end of season depression that a lot of us get! There is time! I know some of Kruppys fans have detailed the sleds and packed away in the trailer for the summer but know- it's go time! And they are on their way up here!
See ya soon!

Lots of downed trees due to the heavy wet snow. Any low spot that can collect water, has it! Picture from trail 120, Freda loop. Use caution, snow has settled a lot, the foot in Twin Lakes is down to about 7 inches as of this morning.

Nice! We will be up later staying with you!!

Krupps Resort

Well Kruppers its been a weird season!
temps have been late Aprilish! its just 34 above out right now
but the snows have taken a big hit! Groomers are asleep till/if it cools off!
looks like the next couple nights it will be in the mid twenties and maybe can go back out but things are looking a bit grim!
John Dee's extended forecast is giving little to no hope and temps heading back to 50's Friday and beyond!
It goes like this:

for Northern Houghton & all of Keweenaw County

.:: March 9, 2016 ::.
TODAY...CLOUDY WITH LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE. TEMPS STEADY IN THE LOW 30'S. NORTH WINDS 5 TO 15 MPH.

TONIGHT...MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOW 26. LIGHT WINDS.

TOMORROW...PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS 38. LIGHT WINDS BECOMING NORTHWEST 5 TO 10 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TOMORROW NIGHT...CLEAR. LOW 24.

FRIDAY...MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH 50. SOUTHWEST WINDS 5 TO 10 MPH.

SATURDAY...MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH 55.

SUNDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY, WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. HIGH 48.

MONDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS. HIGH AROUND 47.

TUESDAY...MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH AROUND 52.
Its just the first week of March so its possible we could get some big bombs yet! ''I like to keep my glass half full because I love to ride!"
Looks like fire roads might be the best riding for now!
Waterfalls should be something to see too!
ya Kruppy is a bit depressed too! And he has a giant fly tormenting him!
Keep your chins up snow lovers!
I wish I was reporting brand new groomer ribbons for you all!
Have a great night!

North Store Follow Me Outfitters

Well we lost some snow but that snow dance I did last night might have worked. We have a good 3" of snow since this morning and still coming down. The week looking good to for snow. Thanks for a great winter so far, it great see all you snow junkies. Let's pray for a great March. Yooper Out!!!! Hey check this out...Give generously, for your gifts will return to you later. Divide your gifts among many, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead. When the clouds are heavy, the rains come down. When a tree falls, weather south or north, there it lies. If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Ecclesiastes 11:1-4 ... See MoreSee Less

Colder temps for the weekend should make for great riding with more snow in the forecast. We have a few snowmobiles left this weekend for rent so get out and enjoy the trails! Www.bluesky-tvc.com ...
