Jay and I hit the city trails last night and they are in good shape. Some choppy spots due to heavier traffic earlier, but we smoothed them out as best we could and saw very little traffic on our run.
Snow was falling the whole run and should be a beautiful ride in the morning.

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Hats off to Mike, Rich and Pete for spending two cold days fixing a minor issue found on the track of the Pisten Bully! These guys have been on the recovery and fix of the blown track and this latest fix this year and we couldn’t do it without them! Hopefully our machine issues are behind us for the year!
Our Milwaukee Tool are a key part of program. From our impacts, grease guns and chainsaws in the cab of our units, these tools make our volunteers lives easier! Our groomers were out all weekend making up for the down machine. Thank you to our volunteers for adjusting their schedules! Trails have come back around since we’ve received some fresh snow to mix in with the crusty snow left from the meld down. Looks like we may receive another foot by next weekend which will help build back up the trail. This week will be frigid so we will adjust grooming as needed for snowfall and temps. Groomers have been going out around the Cadillac area and trails are in good shape. We've gotten about 4" of fresh snow this wknd which is great for lubricating the sleds, and it's still coming down! HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> Thank you to everyone who came out for the 61st Annual Moose Jaw Safari! We had about 175 sleds leave the barn and nearly 300 by the time we reached the town hall. It turned into a beautiful day, with the sun even making an appearance. He groomed Trail #137 from Ontonagon to Rockland.
Trail #13 from Trail #137 to Trail #101.
Trail #101 to Trail #12 at Potato Farm Road.
Trail #12 from P.F. Rd. to the clubhouse in Ontonagon.
He reported all trails in very good condition wit 12 plus inches of fresh powder!
Tractor Mac went into the Porkies and groomed Trail #1 from Trail #12 South of White Pine to Lake of the Clouds.
Trail 11 (South Boundary Road) from Trail #1 to Trail #102.
He reported all in very good condition with the exception of Trail #1 along the big lake, still thin.

The first half of the week was unusually quiet as far as traffic and the trails seriously couldn’t have been better! As we move into the weekend, traffic is definitely picking up but trails have still been in great shape! Huge thank you to all of the clubs and groomer operators!
Ryan Bennet and Nikki McGill set out to enjoy some of the trails this morning from Krupps Resort and they weren’t disappointed! Ryan shared these photos with us and said, “Have had a GREAT day so far! Ran down 3 to 12, over to 174 down to Sidnaw. Back up 109 through the Sturgeon River Gorge, ran up to Church in the Valley Bar. Will be taking 109 back to Twin Lakes. What a great 160+ mile day!”
This weekend and upcoming week’s forecast includes fresh snow and colder temps each day! Just what ever sledder ordered!

Light snow in the area all day with heavy snow closer to the Porkies. Temp's were pretty consistent around 24° and we're still under a winter storm warning..

OG (original groomer) Ben is back!
He did his first solo run of the season on the city trails today and had an interesting run!
Here’s what he had to say-
“Finished the city trails. Things started out great, trails were flattening out great and are in so much better condition than they were last weekend. I did open up a couple of spots between the high school and the casino but they all filled in with the drag so it shouldn’t affect any sledders. Got to talk to a porcupine near the high school trail which is groomed now. There are some ice chunks in that area so be aware. It is flat but it’s lumpy in spots still. More snow and that’ll clean up really nice again. Beyond that, I had a giant branch fall on me just before the turn to Don Dee Lanes. It wasn’t a branch that I hit with the groomer either, I just happened to look back and see it fall behind the drag. Weird. Took a little time to clean that up. Long story short, trails are in good shape. And finally a picture of my Bluetooth playlist while grooming. Smooth operator indeed.”

We do have one machine down that does the kinross area, and I’ll keep you posted on that.
Zeke ran trail 8 from Raco to Brimley last night, and 480 from the Spile Dam to 8.
Things are pretty flat everywhere, with some wet spots still giving us trouble in the swamps. Keep an eye out, especially on 49.

We had about an inch and a half of lake effect overnight. It makes it nice and white but we could use a good stiff system snow to help us out. Its still very icy underneath and I have cones out around the front of my buildng cause its so slick out there. I need a huge amount of salt from the Detroit salt mines to cut down on the slippery stuff.
There were not many sleds around yesterday and it seems slow so far this morning. I have heard from several riders that say they are coming north but time will tell. PIcs below are from this morning. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

Groomed a little today to check out conditions and things were quite good around the Caberfae, Coyote, LPL, and Boon areas!
