KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports - Finally took a well deserved day off of grooming today. We had a dusting of snow and a cold 10° today. Trails are holding up quite well considering the high traffic this past weekend.
The first 2 pics are from my run yesterday along the canal and the last one is close to a mile of untouched trail coming into Painesdale. It has to be a first, I groomed from Painesdale to Atlantic Mine and didn't see one snowmobile. That's close to 3 miles and going through South Range.

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority - ORV & Snowmobile Club - Groomers were out all night again and trails rated very good to excellent! We have received at least a foot since end of last week, its perfect out there! It's amazing how much less grooming trails need when you groom them at the right time. Our volunteers lose their sleep to groom trails late at night to create a better trail for everyone and it helps save program dollars by not requiring extra "PR" day time runs (when riders should be riding and groomers should be thawing). Please support our club by buying a membership online or donating. Your dollars go to our club only, we are all volunteers. gogebicrangeta.org/membership/ ... #ironwood #westernup #snowphotosGroomers were out all night again and trails rated very good to excellent! SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association - Good Morning! I received a message from Steve this morning after their run down 49 last night. Here’s what he had to say-
“Dennis and I shared a run last night.
Trail 49 from the Soo to Kinross is getting better with each grooming run.
We had enough snow to load the drag and drop snow in the low spots.
The trail has seen a lot of traffic but overall is in great condition.
Steve Lawson”
Thanks guys! It’s great to know that all sections of all of our trails are able to be groomed safely now! ❄️❄️❄️

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA - TRAIL REPORT January 24, 2022 GREAT RIDING – MACHINE STILL DOWN!
More snow coming today with a Winter Weather Advisory. The trail system in an overall very good condition, good in towns and near roadways. Groomer Operators are still getting very good results. With a machine down, Operators are picking up extra miles in both our John Deere’s to try and keep the trail grooming un-interrupted. There was a delay in getting parts so fingers crossed that they arrive today. Special Thanks to Trenary Northern Trails for helping out grooming some of our west side Trails. Our Operators really appreciate it! Get out and ride safe, stay right and enjoy the great riding conditions! Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club - Trail Report: 1-24-22
Building that base! We have a winter weather advisory for 3-6 inches of fresh white gold. It is currently starting to snow with more to come. The trails are starting to get better with some snirty areas. Traffic this weekend was moderate in the area and the groomer drivers are reporting that they are starting to get something to work with (see pic). Trails are currently rated as fair to good with some ice in the corners. On another note, a boogie wheel was found in the Rasho road drop zone incase anyone is looking for it (pic attached). Send us a IM if it's yours. As always, Ride Right, Ride Sober, Ride Safe... #traversecity #snowphotos

STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club - Groomer Al, Groomer Bobby and Groomer Chris all ran last night. New snow we received over the last few days has helped a lot. Overall all of our trails are flat and firm with a little bit of loose snow on top as of the time of this update. South end of Carp River Truck Trail is being plowed for logging so while snow covered and definitely rideable it is thin. Also a little thin in the twistys near Cut River but still no problem riding or cooling. All of our trails will be groomed again tonight. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - We aren’t sure if you’ve heard yet…but it has been snowing like crazy here on Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula for the past week and the trails are in excellent condition! S❄️ many riders are sending in their photos and reviews on trails!
Dustin Kato and crew of 11 are just one of MANY groups singing praises about the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trails!
Dustin said, “I just wanted to say that every experience I have had here has been phenomenal! So far I have been here two times! Each year it was the same day of the same month! It has been another awesome trip! We rode from Houghton all the way to Copper Harbor to the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula! We stopped at the Lac La Belle Lodge / Bear Belly Pit Stop for fuel and and had lunch at the The Mariner North restaurant. The food was awesome and the service was even better! Trails were great throughout the whole entire ride! We came across groomers twice. My entire group of 12 put on a total of 150 miles!”
Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos and comments on riding Dustin! We are so glad you all enjoyed your trip! .. #keweenaw #snowphotos

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - How far would you travel in extreme cold temperatures for a famous tostada pizza at the Ambassador? theambassadorhoughton.com/home
Carrie Conway and crew set out early yesterday morning for a beautiful but brisk 260 mile round trip trail ride to Houghton, Michigan from Iron Belt, Wisconsin. They stopped at two of their favorites, Hoop N Holler Tavern and The Mosquito Inn before reaching their destination of The Ambassador for a delicious tostada pizza!
Carrie shared these photos and comments, “At 8am this morning we started out in Iron Belt, Wi (real feel of -31°)! We rode all the way over to Houghton, MI to eat at the Ambassador! Then back to the Motel around 9pm. Put on over 260 miles today there and back! Trails were great the entire way there, with the exception of a few thin areas in the woods when we started out.”
What a beautiful day for a ride! Thanks for sharing your photos with us! We are so glad you enjoyed your day! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club - Trail Report: 01-20-22
We received some lake effect snow last night. We went out to inspect the trails and took a few pictures. Depending on where you are on the trail system you will find at least 3 inches and in some areas 6 inches of fresh snow. Trails up by Kalkaska and in the valley were in better shape. Due to the limited base I would still rate the trails as poor but every little bit helps. The groomers will be heading out this weekend to pan the trails. The forecast calls for 1-3 on Saturday and lake effect on Sunday and more of the same on Monday. Let's all hope that this continues, it was nice getting out for a ride today. That's all for now, remember to Ride Right, Ride Sober, Ride Safe... #traversecity #snowphotos
