WEATHER UPDATE via Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> UPDATE: Posted at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11th.
I've seen the afternoon model runs and decided to let this forecast ride for now. I'm confident with the data I saw that this is still a decent map. I will be totally transparent, I was considering lowering by about one inch across the board, but I do think there is enough moisture available for some 9" totals, so I'll let it ride. Also, lowering by one inch doesn't change any impacts to you, so what's the point? .... #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyUPDATE: Posted at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11th.

IMPACTS: Lots of snow, some wind, cold temps, difficult travel, icing near Detroit / Monroe County, bad commutes Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Those things don't really care whether it's 6 or 7 inches, right? Still high impacts. haha.
If I decide to make adjustments based on new data coming in later today, tonight, or even early tomorrow I will absolutely let you know!
Forecasting is like throwing a dart at a dartboard that is moving. The closer you get, the better your odds are of hitting something you want or a bullseye! Meteorologists and scientists adjust their predictions, hypothesis, etc with new data all the time. There is nothing wrong with it. We can't be wrong before the storm even starts :) haha.
Please check my previous posts for more information and follow along for the slew of posts coming the rest of the day and leading up to the storm!
My subscribers will get information on Saturday's system. I need to keep this feed focused on one storm at a time to avoid confustion.
What you need to know about Saturday: Another swatch of snow causing travel difficulties for the Lower Peninsula. :)

WEATHER UPDATE via Midwest Weather >> ~Snowfall Forecast Tuesday Night-Thursday Morning~
I ran out of time this morning so I had to take a picture off my phone this time. Hopefully it's visible enough.
A winter storm is expected to bring a swath of heavy snowfall accumulations from KS/NE to portions of MI. A surface low will deepen in the panhandle and move northeast through the day on Wednesday. A large area of 6-9" is expected, which will cause significant travel impacts on Wednesday and Thursday. Snow will overspread southwest to northeast Tuesday night west of the Missouri River and Wednesday morning east of the Missouri River. Snow will fall for as long as 18 hours in some areas.
A large area of increased lift and frontogensis with a deformation band will enhance snowfall rates to 1" an hour. Very fluffy snow will allow blowing. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey~OUTDATED~

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> While most of the UP will be dry today through midweek, lake effect snow showers continue across the NW wind snow belts through Tuesday.
