Gaylord Trail Report – November 30

Alpine Snowmobile Trails Trail Report – Gaylord Area

November 30, 2007 2:00 p.m.
Snow and Weather: 5″Trail Report: Trails officially open tomorrow. And it looks like we may actually have enough snow to ride. Trail gates are still closed as of today, but the Tourism Bureau website says that the trails are opening tomorrow. There is lots of snow in the area. The way the lake effect snowbands are setting up, snow depth does vary quite bit around the area with the deepest snow north and west of town. Obviously no grooming has been done yet, they can’t run until the 1st. Even if no grooming is done, this should be a great weekend to ride seasonal roads and two tracks, but please make sure to stay off of private property.

There have been some changes in the local trail system. The biggest change I have seen is where trails 7 and 4 split at Old 27 and Mancelona Road. The changes are well marked, so please follow the signs.

Our lakes have frozen over, but the ice is not thick enough yet to support any weight. I would strongly suggest that you stay off the ice.

Happy Sledding!

Specials & Events: This year, meetings will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 8:00 at Mama Leone’s. Club ride to follow. Depending on the conditions, we may trailer. Stay tuned to this site to find out if we are meeting and where we are riding.
