HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had a groomer out on the grade last night that ran north from Pellston to Mackinaw. Overall the trails are in great shape.
Please be aware there is still logging on Chadderdon road (Trail 71) & log trucks have the right of way. Please get off the trail or turn around if you encounter one, DO NOT try to go around them. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Another perfect day for riding in northern michigan. Temp has made it to 25 and sled traffic has been steady. The Swamp has been busy all day and its saturday and that makes me think about Frederic Inn prime rib. Went down to Houghton Lake last night for the second friday night at Tip Up Town. I havent been down there in 30 years or probably more. Once a year the State Police come thru Frederic on the train to catch riders doing rail road trespass which can be as simple as being to close to the tracks so the moral of the story is STAY AWAY FROM THE TRACKS. Usually the train has a MSP sign on it but it did not today but I did see a sheriff car following along on old 27. They have been thru twice this afternoon and it was just 2 engines which never happens any other time. Not to much else to say. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> The daytime temps have been running 12 to 16 degrees all week and are gonna raise a bit next week but the great part is there is no melting going on and trails are good most everywhere. This has been a busy friday as I keep thinking its saturday. This whole season has brought in alot of people that havent been in here in years. That part is fun to see all of these past customers and memories I have with them. Little kids from years ago that are grown and bringing in their families. Bob Compton from south of Jackson who always says I need men sized shirts in here. He made an apperance here today after a many year absense. Not supposed to be much snow this weekend so get out and ride and enjoy it. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton's North Coast Adventures >> Riding across the Ontonagon River bridge on trail 12 is a sight to behold! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.

BALDWIN AREA UPDATE via Trailriders Snowmobile Club >> 1/29 update: We are regularly grooming all 4 areas of our trails, covering all of our over 160 miles of trails. With limited volunteer operators we aren’t getting them all everyday but keeping them in great shape with the cold temps. Newaygo and the North and Rail were groomed or are being groomed today. We will hit a couple more sections tomorrow before the weekend.
Reminder to join us for our open house this Saturday, January 31st from 10-4. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> It was a great start to the day in Frederic on tuesday morning. Wertz Warriors were in town at the Swamp for their annual stop and fund raiser for Special Olympics. Julie put out a great breakfast srpead for all of them as they were all getting to spend another day on the trail heading towards the Winter Special Olympics. They have as many people in support vehicles as they do riders. Always a great site to see. After they left at 9:30 I came back over to Sledheads to get ready to go ride to Lewiston and then 3 guys Scott, Jeff and Pat came in and said they were going to ride to the bridge. So much for Lewiston, Ten minutes later I had my closed sign up and we were on our way to the bridge. Stopped at Breakers in Topinabee for hot chocolate and then up thru Cheboygan to Maknaw City for lunch at the Keyhole and then off to Pellston and Alanson with a pit stop at Josh’s at Spankys. It was getting close to dark so we made our way thru back to Indian River. The guys had rented a motel in INdian River and I left them and back to Frederic. Another nice 170 mile day. Trails are the best they have been in years and they were flat like a table all day. It doesnt happen like that very often and this seems to be the year with no snirt sor far. I like that part too. All pics below are from yesterdays events and ride. It was a good ride with those 3 guys and I am glad they stopped in. They should be back here in Frederic later today as they parked their truck out back. It supposed to be minus 15 degrees tonight so button up. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

BALDWIN AREA UPDATE via Trailriders Snowmobile Club >> 1/27 Update: We have been continuously grooming all sections as often as possible with limited operators and a tractor down due to track issues. The Newaygo trails, middle trails and Hart trail was groomed yesterday. The north and rail trails will be groomed tonight. Use caution ⚠️ ⛔️🚨if you are riding as there is blowing snow and low wind chills and we could have branches and trees down or hanging low. If you can safely remove hazards, please do. Also, report to us any larger hazards you come across and their location so we can get them removed. Here are some pictures from the last few days grooming. Ride safe, ride right and stay warm!

Groomer driver Don went out on the west trail and reported excellent conditions. Groomer driver Jeff was on the south trail and reported some drifting in the open areas and rated the trails as excellent. We will be out again tomorrow. Things are so good around here that I actually have no significant updates to share LOL. A little snow here and there on top of an absolutely incredible base is making for the best riding in our area in years, honestly. Even with one machine still down, our operators have things in excellent shape!

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> The trails are in great shape! We had groomers out throughout the weekend and one on the east side of our trail system last night. He reported back that the trails were still flat and hard from the last groom on Saturday.
