LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Bergland Area Groomer's update for 12-16-25.
Temp's got into the upper 30's today. It shouldn't impact trails, however we will be keeping machines parked this evening.
Pictures are of Trail 13 North of M28 to Rockland and 13 south of the Root Cellar to our turnaround. 13 North of the Root Cellar is still being worked on and we'll hopefully be able to open that up by the end of the week.
If mother nature cooperates we anticipate getting back out there tomorrow.. That's all for now! Gogebic Area Grooming ❄️❄️❄️ #lakegogebic #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you to Bryan, Logan, Pete, and Dave for clearing this gnarly widow maker from trail 8 between 5 and 6 mile. It was just sort of dangling there and would have made a real mess if left to fall on its own. Much safer for riders and our operators now. #soo #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> Hats off to Steve from Hamilton's North Coast Adventures for his hard work and dedication. He ran WITH the drag to groom what we could yesterday.
TRAIL REPORT:
Trail 1 was groomed from LP Walsh Road to Silver City and back with some wet spots North of White Pine. A rider ran up to Lake of the Clouds and advised us that there is a large tree on the trail just past the split to Trail 11 (South Boundary Road). Snow is thin thru the woods in The Porkies, but the wet spots have frozen up nicely.
Thanks for the detailed info, Nick!
Trail 12 was groomed between White Pine and the split to Trail 101. There are some wet spots along the LP Walsh Road, ride with caution. The trail is not groomed or cleared of hazards beyond that split going East to the NCSC Clubhouse.
Trail 101 is in great shape!
Trail 13 from the 101 junction to Rockland is cleared thru and groomed, but narrow in spots, ride with caution.
Trail12/137 (The railroad grade) between Rockland and Ontonagon is in good shape, but Trail 12 going East to Greenland has not yet been cleared.
If you are running Groomer Tracker please keep in mind that some of the groomers are still running with no drags, clearing trail and or rolling and compacting. Please check with individual clubs to get the full scoop B4 you ride. #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> The winter weather advisory has come and gone. The trails took a hit this weekend with all the traffic. Luckily, we had a narrow lake effect band set up shop on Sunday and dropped a foot of fluff in some areas on the trail. Elsewhere, we received 2-6 inches. A few club members went out to check the trails on their sleds, and rated the trails as good, with some snirt in areas.
We will be panning this new snow before the warm up this week. Hopefully, this warn up doesn't hurt the base too much.
When your out on the trails and your looking for a place to eat. Check out our business sponsor Fife Lake Inn. LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Your Sunday evening 12-14-25 Groomer's report from the Bergland Area.
We received around 8"to 10" over the past 2 days from the latest storm. The snow and cold have been helping out tremendously!!
I was waiting to hear from one of our operators out currently who had just groomed 8w to see if thing's had improved but he hasn't replied. However 8w and 1n are currently being groomed.
Today we finally punched through 102. We'll let 102 set up for a day or 2 and run through her again without a drag.
Then 13 from Root Cellar north is the last section to open up along with access trail's. 🤞Mother Nature cooperates! We are moving forward and some sections are beautiful and other's just need time. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> Brrrrrr….. 🥶it was definitely a cold day to ride the Keweenaw, but Jason Kremer definitely wasn’t complaining!
Jason and crew headed out today from the Ramada in Hancock and rode up to Copper Harbor for the Winter Wonderfest & Park
Lighting Event! (Checkout the video Jason shared with us in the comments!)
Jason is a frequent rider of the Keweenaw and today definitely didn’t disappoint! Jason shared these photos and said, “You definitely need to tode to Copper Harbor tomorrow! Trails are not freshly groomed but they are flat and fast! The only slightly bumpy part was the trail up Brockway, but not bad for a Saturday in the Kee! There is zero traffic today, only met one group of sledders all the way from Hancock to Copper Harbor. Having a blast, will send you pics when I get service. Maybe we will run into a groomer on the way back!”
Well, as you can see from one of Jason’s photos, they did come across a groomer on the way back from Copper Harbor!
We hope you all enjoyed your Saturday as much as Jason did!
Please note as of right now the, The Portage Lake Lift Bridge is not yet open for snowmobile crossing. That means you can not cross from Houghton to Hancock…. yet.
The Coast Guard needed to close the shipping lanes and then the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club and the city need to coordinate laying the snow mat for sled crossing…. Hopefully, very soon!

DRUMMOND ISLAND UPDATE via Drummond Island Snow & Groomer Report >> Snow gauge 12/13/25
It’s hard to tell due to settling of the previous snow but it looks like we only got about 1 inch of new inch of snow last night.
As to the snow gauge experiment so far it appears that the biggest difference is the front yard gauge is in a more open and sunny area so it seems to settle/ melt faster then the backyard one that’s more protected by trees and shade. #drummondisland #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

❄️ WEEK 2 - ERIKA’S TRAIL REPORTS ❄️
(long post but worth the read)
While you were sleeping… 🌙
Our 1st official grooming (Team Trent & Erika) of the 2025-2026 season was MAGICAL!
With real feel of -15F and blizzard-like conditions, we groomed for 10 hours overnight (12/12-12/13) during heavy lake effect snow! North Country Snowmobile Club trail conditions have significantly improved thanks to the dedicated volunteers that have been cleaning the trails day and night for your enjoyment! We rated trails 101, 13 and 137 and unplowed forest roads tonight - EXCELLENT CONDITION!!! WOW, we can’t believe that it is only the 2nd week of December!
🚨 IMPORTANT REMINDERS 🚨
⚠️ Heavy lake effect snow going on all weekend: snow quickly accumulating on trails and with low visibility at times
⚠️ Trail 12 to Greenland has not been actively groomed yet;
⚠️ Trail 12/Norwich Road has not been actively groomed yet;
⚠️ Trails 1 and 11 (Porkies/Lake of the Clouds) are being worked on this weekend;
⚠️ Snow is deep and plentiful in the forest but lower accumulation near the lakefront
👏🏻 Many thanks to all the group of riders that we saw tonight for being mindful of the groomer. Let’s continue to enjoy snowmobiling in a responsible way and go home safely. #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three groomers out last night & the snow was coming down! Everything was groomed other than the Alanson Trail & Cross Village loop. The Alanson trail has the least amount of snow on our system & there are still some open water holes but overall the trails are in good shape.
Trees are continuing to fall from the ice storm damage earlier this year so please keep that in mind when out riding & especially in high winds. If you come across a down tree & are unable to safely remove it from the trail please let us know.
Temperatures are supposed to stay cold through the weekend & we are expected to get another 2-6 inches of snow. There is a warm up predicted Tuesday-Thursday with possible rain, we are hoping that changes but we will keep everyone updated.

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Bergland Area Groomer's update for 12-12-25.
We've been using one machine to open up trail's and the other to pan or groom what gets the green light to cover.
Trail 13 from the Root Cellar south to camp 6 Rd. Has been opened up with a Bully today but still needs work. 13 North of the Root Cellar is still impassable.
Work on 102 has been on going for the past 2 day's and we'll probably be running a machine that direction in the next day or 2.
8w to Wakefield we opened up with hopes of the cold weather and traffic packing it in.
We currently have a machine grooming 8e and 1n.
We are under a winter weather advisory with bitter cold temps and accumulating snow! We'll continue to update as progress is made. Gogebic Area Grooming ❄️❄️❄️ #lakegogebic #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
