Traverse City Trail Report - Blue Sky Rentals - 12/05
Yeah Baby!
Trails are open and there are people out riding. Mikey and I were out powder riding all day today and it was insane. Trails are groomed in spots and need to be in others. The trail from Ranch Rudolph towards Peegeo's is a bit bumpy in spots and a bit rough around the corners. Overall for December 5 it seems like mid winter form. The power lines are full of powder ... Fun Fun Fun, just be careful of stumps and downed trees. Be careful off of the trail. There is a bit of gas line work going on in the Williamsburg area so beware of that as well. Today a UPS driver lost his way and ended up on the trail, IN HIS UPS TRUCK! You never know what you will run into so ride safe and be cautious.
Looks like the temps will be cold for the next 10 days. Should be good riding. If you don't have a sled, give us a shout for a great rental today.

We've ridden about 100 miles this week. Trails are in great shape. There is a ton of snow out there. We have had anywhere from 30 to 70 inches of snow between Traverse City to Gaylord. The power lines, seasonal roads and 2 tracks are nothing but powder. The trails are being groomed daily. We ran into the groomer yesterday and had miles and miles of untouched trails. I can't remember the last time we had this much snow this early. COME ON UP AND PLAY!
We are open for business. Ask about our early season snowmobile rental special. ANY SLED $150 Monday through Thursday now through December 18.
Lots of snow in the Boardman Valley -- should be some great riding on Friday and Saturday -- then we'll have to see what happens later on Sunday - right now the forecast is calling for some rain.... Here is a photo from Blue Sky Rentals based at Peegeo's
Jamie Bush, Owner of Blue Sky Rentals having some fun in the powder before his season really kicks in! -- Traverse City - December 11, 2008 www.michigansnowmobile.com/bluesky
Dec. 18, 2008 Looks like it will be a great season for snowmobiling this year for the Traverse City area. The Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Council has a great group of volunteers ready and eager to groom the Boardman Valley Trail System. Grooming started on December 1st and has not stopped, tractors are running daily.
We have already had tons of snow, more perdicted for tonight, another storm Friday night and more on the way Sunday. If you need to know which way the groomer is running on a particular day just email me, all 3 of the groomers are stationed at Ranch Rudolf, so I am able to give you the true facts.

Happy Holidays, All of the snowmobile junkies out there got there wish of a White Christmas. We have plenty of snow on the ground for great trail riding. The trails are groomed and firm. We should have a huge base created due to last weeks warm weather and then immediate freeze this week. We will be heading out later today for a better overall idea of conditions.
We still have plenty of Rental sleds available for the Holiday week. Give us a call and we will set you up for the snowmobiling fun!

Trails are perfect. I spoke with George Vankersen, owner of Peegeo's Restaurant, he said he's never seen the trails this perfect. I think I will take his word for it as he is one of our loyal Boardman Valley Groomers.
We had very little traffic for a Saturday so the trails won't get hurt too much. Cold temps kept riders away today. We started at 4 below and hit a high of around 15 today. This week looks great for temps and continued snowfall. This could be a Holiday Season tailor made for Snowmobiling.
We still have plenty of Rental sleds available for the Holiday week. Give us a call and we will set you up for the snowmobiling fun!
Saturday the 27th @ 6pm Thanks North Guide for the great pictures-how fast it all can change. It is raining hard and is just miserable out there, but most are making a bad situation fun and getting out to play in it anyways. Lets all keep our fingers crossed that it will turn colder and start to snow tomorrow as they say. If only a day of this it will make the trail base just that much better! Until next time--Ranch Rudolf
Looks like the rehab of the trails has begun.... the forecast looks good for the rest of the week.
Here is the latest from Jamie at Blue Sky Rentals - December 28 Trail Report
Well, the trails held up despite the rain we had yesterday. I heard they plan to groom as soon as we drop below freezing. We should be back on track for the rest of the week as temps are going to be in the 20's and light snow each day. The roadsides will be sparse and the trails will be a bit icy so be very careful out there. See you on the trails.

Trails are holding up fairly well considering the lack of snow lately. We did get a few inches last week. The base is great and the trails are in excellent shape. We rode about 65 miles today. The north and east trail were untouched as we must have gone out just after the groomer. High winds and sun yesterday did beat up the roadsides a bit going in and out of Fife Lake and Kalkaska. Cold temps are in the forecast with some snow. Should be another good weekend of riding.

Trails are perfect. We had a 120 mile guided tour today, we did the entire boardman loop, hit a ton of power lines and seasonal roads. It was AWESOME!. I can't believe the difference a week can make. We ran the entire day without seeing the groomer. There were parts of the trail that had to have a foot of fresh snow on them. When we finished we were amazed at how well the trails were considering they had not groomed in a couple days. As soon as we returned the Peegeo's the groomer went by. Tommorow is going to be a perfect day to ride!
We have a 4 sleds left for Saturday, Get out and ride!
